Magellan is an exciting and unique new product from CSE Education Systems that solves many challenges for schools; from enabling BYOD (bring your own device) to hybrid cloud computing. Rather than become part of CSE’s normal product brand structure, it needed to stand out from the crowd and excite schools to help them see its potential. The launch campaign had to build on the sense of a breakthrough product whilst also telling people what it does in as simple a way as possible.
Imagery showing the Earth from outer space is symbolic of what the product can achieve for schools on many levels – we developed a brand and campaign around this theme. Our involvement started from the design of the product’s user interface, right through to planning and delivering the launch event at The BETT Show. Central to the campaign was an animated 3D video to tell the story of Magellan and sell the concept to prospects. Other marketing materials, including advertising and direct mail, were designed to drive traffic to the microsite and video.
Magellan has a look and feel like no other product in its sector. At the launch event CSE took more than twice the number of leads than the previous two years and follow-up calls showed strong brand recollection from visitors.
